What does the Freeze feature do in My Library Account?
Freezing a Request means that a customer’s position in the Request list is skipped over until the customer reactivates (“Unfreezes”) the Request for the item. Freezing a Request allows a customer to stay on the Request list while Requests for this item are filled for customers further down on the list.
How can I Freeze an item I have requested?
-
Logon to My Library Account.
-
Click on the "Requests" button. (NOTE: your library account needs to have items already requested in order to be able to Freeze them.)
-
Notice the "Freeze" column on the right side of the page. Items that are eligible to be "Frozen" will have a box next to them.
-
Find the respective items you would like to "Freeze" and insert a checkmark in the box in the Freeze column for this item.
-
Once you have completed selecting the items you want to Freeze, click the "Update Holds" button to activate your changes.
-
SPECIAL NOTE: when items are Frozen, then can only be Unfrozen by the customer. (The online library catalog does not enable Library staff to Unfreeze items for customers.)
